Grassroots
|
A grassroots political movement is a movement organized by a network of citizens. Inspired by the German word "Keimform" Grassroots activists want change in the political institutions by non-violent action. Grassroots activists reject hierarchical and ideological organisation structures.
Faking a grassroots movement is known as astroturfing, after the name of a popular artificial lawn.
