History
Goshen was first settled in 1761 and was officially incorporated in 1781.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 45.9 km² (17.7 mi²). 45.0 km² (17.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.9 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.98% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 921 people, 365 households, and 247 families residing in the town. The population density is 20.5/km² (53.0/mi²). The D.A.R. State Forest was established in 1929 when the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) donated 1,020 acres to the Commonwealth. Almost 750 additional acres have been acquired since then, including Upper and Lower Highland Lakes. Facilities include: Fishing, Canoeing/kyaking, Accessable trails, Beaches,Camping, Wildlife observation, Picnicking, Showers, and winter Ice-skating and cross-country skiing.
