God Ginrai

Also transliterated as Jinrai[His human-counterpart's name], Ginrai is a character simliar to Optimus Prime, being americanized as PowerMaster Optimus Prime as a result. He first appeared in the Transformers Masterforce series.
He was voiced by Hiroshi Takemura.
Ginrai in Masterforce, Zone, & Victory
Ginrai was a Transtector meant to bring Convoy back to life, only to be stolen by the evil energy entity, Devil Z, who hid it & many other Transtectors away on Earth. But Ginrai came into being when a truck driver named Jinrai began driving a unique truck, which happened to be Ginrai's TransTector and had choiced Jinrai as its Power-Master. At first Jinrai was hesitant to become part of the Masterforce team, but after the death of his friend Billy, his resolve became firm. Jinrai transforms his truck into Ginrai by clapping his Power-Master bracelets together and calling "God On".
Ginrai can combine with his trailer to form Super Ginrai, and furthermore combine with the non-sentient Godbomber to form God Ginrai. After the destruction of Devil-Z, Ginrai gained sentience & thanked Jinrai for his help. At some time between Masterforce and Victory, Ginrai was seen more in his God Ginrai form as he eventually rose to the rank of Captain in the Cybertronian Defense Force.
Ginrai also promoted Star Saber as the new Defense Force Commander, and helped him on ocassions.
Victory Leo
When God Ginrai died of injuries sustained in battle (Victory, in the episode "Farwell God Ginrai"). At the last moment, his brain was transferred into a new body, Victory Leo. The transfer was not a complete success, leaving Victory Leo a more violent individual than God Ginrai was. But Victory Leo does have some memories of his 'past life'.
Victory Leo can combine with Star Saber to form Victory Saber.
