Glencoe is a village located in Cook County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 8,762.
Glencoe was the birthplace of poet Archibald MacLeish.
Geography
Glencoe is located at 42°7'53" North, 87°45'39" West (42.131602, -87.761026)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 10.0 km² (3.8 mi²). 9.8 km² (3.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.82% water.
