Gibraltar Socialist Labour Party

Template:Politics of Gibraltar The Gibraltar Socialist Labour Party (abbreviated GSLP) is a political party in Gibraltar. The GSLP is the oldest active party in Gibraltar, its formation lying in the trade union movement. The party has a broadly democratic socialist agenda, promising increased public spending and better pensions. It also supports cutting the size of ministerial salaries.
Like all the parties in Gibraltar the GSLP supports self-determination for Gibraltar and opposes moves toward joint British–Spanish sovereignty. The party has historically been more hardline in its attitude towards Spain than the Gibraltar Social Democrats who tend towards a more conscilliatory stance.
They are currently led by Joe Bossano, and are in alliance with the Gibraltar Liberal Party. At the 2003 election to the Gibraltar House of Assembly this alliance polled 39.7 per cent of the vote and returned 7 (out of 15) members (5 GSLP, 2 Liberal).
