German Workers' Party
|
The German Workers' Party (German: Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, short DAP) was a briefly existing progenitor of the NSDAP (National Socialist German Workers' Party). It was founded on January 5 1919 by Anton Drexler and Karl Harrer. On February 24 1920 was renamed to NSDAP.
To fake larger membership numbers than it actually had, the party started counting their members at 500. Adolf Hitler got the membership number 555 when he joined the party on October 19 1919.de:Deutsche Arbeiterpartei nl:Duitse Arbeiderspartij
