Geoffry Alexander Stafford Northcote

Sir Geoffry Alexander Stafford Northcote (1881 - 1948) was a British colonial administrator.
Northcote was born on 9 February 1881 at London. He was educated at Blundell's School at Tiverton and Balliol College, Oxford. He entered the Colonial Service in 1904 and served at Kenya (formerly East African Protectorate) in 1904-1927. He became Chief Secretary of Northern Rhodesia in 1928-1930, and Gold Coast in 1920-1934. He was appointed Governor and Commander-in-Chief of British Guiana in 1935-38, and Hong Kong in 1937-41.
He married Edith Juliet Mary Adams on 27 October 1910. They have three sons:
- Maxwell Adams Stafford Northcote
- Arthur Geoffry Stafford Northcote
- Arnyas Henry Stafford Northcote
Northcote died on 10 July 1948.
He was created C.M.G. in 1931, K.C.M.G. in 1935. He was also created K.St.J..
