Thus, this college services several sites outside of Genesee County. This two-year college also offers housing facilities to out-of-area students, although the school is attended primarily by commuters.
Two-year associate's degree programs and shorter-duration certificate programs are offered in the areas of business and commerce (including fashion merchandising management, hotel/hospitality management, and travel and tourism), computers and technology, creative arts, health care, human services, law and criminal justice, liberal arts, math and science (including engineering science and environmental studies), office technology and support, sports and physical education, and teaching and education.
In 1999, Genesee Community college received the Robert F. Warren Award for innovation in campus mobility. In 2001, a SUNY student poll rated Genessee the 7th most attractive campus in the SUNY system.
