Gastón Gaudio (born December 9, 1978 in Buenos Aires, Argentina), nicknamed El Gato (The Cat in Spanish), is a professional tennis player from Argentina. He won the Roland Garros Men's Singles title in 2004 by defeating compatriot Guillermo Coria 0-6 3-6 6-4 6-1 8-6 in an unprecedented all-Argentinean final; Gaudio was not seeded in the tournament. As a result of this victory he reached the top 10 on the ATP entry rankings for the first time.
Gaudio's best shot is his one-handed backhand, which has been praised by Guillermo Vilas.
