Gaskill Township is a township located in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 671.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 55.8 km² (21.5 mi²). 55.7 km² (21.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.05% is water.
History
Gaskill was founded in 1842, from a portion of Young township.
The earliest known Euorpean settlers were the family of Carpenter Winslow and Beulah Winslow, in 1818.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 671 people, 247 households, and 189 families residing in the township. The population density is 12.0/km² (31.2/mi²). There are 327 housing units at an average density of 5.9/km² (15.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 99.11% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.15% Asian, 0.45% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.30% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
