Gary Peacock

Gary Peacock (born 12 May 1935 in Burley, Idaho) is an American jazz bassist. In the 1960s, he joined Paul Bley's trio (with whom he has continued playing), and was also a member of Albert Ayler's trio with Sunny Murray. He temporarily abandoned music in the late 1960s, and spent time in Japan studying Zen philosophy. After returning to the United States, he taught macrobiotics and music in Seattle.
In the 1970s he joined Keith Jarrett's trio with Jack DeJohnette.
