In the fictional universe of micronationist and language enthusiast James Wong, the Kingdom of Fyksland (in Fyksian: Vaijskär Kohnäklije) is a Nordic country, supposedly situated on an island in the Northern Atlantic.
Mr. Wong started his project on Fyksland in 1996. Over the years, the Fyksian language, history, culture have been developed. In 1998, the official web site on Fyksland first appeared on the World Wide Web. Starting in 2001, the Weekly Fyksian News started its online publication. The newspaper describes world and domestic events reflecting Fyksland's cultural, social, and political point of view.
Manufactured history
A history that stretches back thousands of years has been created for Fyksland. The country was apparently colonized by both Celtic and Viking settlers. The Fyksian language, however, has only recognizable features from Germanic languages. Within the fictional universe of Fyksland, it has become a member of the UN and EU.
