Francisco is a town located in Gibson County, Indiana. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 543.
Geography
Francisco is located at 38°20'0" North, 87°26'50" West (38.333360, -87.447314)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.4 km² (0.6 mi²). 1.4 km² (0.6 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 543 people, 233 households, and 150 families residing in the town. The population density is 381.2/km² (995.5/mi²). There are 249 housing units at an average density of 174.8/km² (456.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 99.26% White, 0.55% African American, 0.18% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.37% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 233 households out of which 29.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.2% are married couples living together, 9.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.2% are non-families. 30.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.33 and the average family size is 2.90.
In the town the population is spread out with 22.3% under the age of 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 30.2% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 14.0% who are 65 years of age or older. A few examples are Tyler Wethington, Jordan Hunter, Vance Lloyd, and Colton Dunn. Most valuable would be the fire department in Francisco. Including Tracy Krieg, Billy Grislwould, and Brent Wethington.
