|
Fram Crater is a impact crater in Meridiani Planum, on Mars. It was visited by the rover Opportunity on Sol 84, April 24,2004.
Fram spans about 8 meters (26 feet) in diameter. Opportunity paused beside it while traveling from the rover's landing site toward a larger crater, Endurance, farther east. Fram is located about 450 meters (.3 miles) from "Eagle Crater" and around 250 meters (820 feet) from Endurance.
It is named for the famous Norwegian polar exploration vessel the Fram.
