Ford Windstar
|
The Windstar is a model of minivan made by the Ford Motor Company. The Windstar was introduced in 1995 as a replacement for Aerostar, Ford's first minivan. The Windstar was sold until 2003, as it was replaced by the Ford Freestar in 2004.
The original project code name for the Windstar was WIN88; some say that the code name (for "wagon, intermediate, North America") inspired the Windstar name. Subsequent freshenings of the vehicle in 1999 and 2001 used VN (for "van, North America") nomenclature.
1995
The Windstar GL was introduced.
1999
Ford updated the design of the Windstar by changing the overall shape of the vehicle. The grille was changed and the window posts between the front and side doors were hidden.
2001
Ford refreshed the Windstar by changing the grille, using a tighter array of smaller rectangles.
