SR 9A is also the unsigned number for Interstate 95 south of the Golden Glades Interchange.

SR 9A will form a full loop around Jacksonville, Florida when the I-95/I-295/SR 9A interchange in southeastern Jacksonville is completed in 2006. The west half is currently signed as I-295. The east half will also be signed as I-295 to match the west half when construction completes in 2009 on converting the last remaining traffic-light intersection on SR 9A, at the junction of SR 9A and SR 202 (J. Turner Butler Boulevard) to a multi-level interchange.
