Prelude

"Once dragons and men coexisted, they shared a peace forged in wisdom. All that was lost when mankind disrupted, this balance in a sudden onslaught. Defeated and humbled, dragons vanished from the realm. In time, man rebulit and spread his dominion across the land and the islands beyond. A millennium has passed, since those dark days ended."

The game starts in the country of Sacae with the player character, a tactician (whose default name is Mark), who is found by Lyndis when knocked unconscious in front of her home. Lyn eventually meet Cavaliers Kent and Sain who reveal to the player that the Sacaen is the daughter of Hasar and Madelyn, automatically making her the granddaughter of Lord Hausen and heir to the Caelin marquess title. However, Lyn's existence is an obstacle to Hausen's brother, Lundgren, who wants the title all to himself.

Meeting Eliwood (11- Final Chapter)

Eliwood's story starts a year after Lyn had been marquess of Caelin. The tactician was studying more on military tactics during the time, but the village he was in (a local village of Pherae) was attacked by bandits, Eliwood and his small crew join up to see what kind of problem happened in the village. After defeating the bandits, Eliwood meets up with his childhood friend, Hector, brother of Marquess Ostia, in Santaruz. Hector, Eliwood, and the others fight against the oddly aggressive Santaruz soldiers a they seek to find Lord Helman to ask him what is going on. But when they goet there, they find that he is clinging to life, stabbed. In his dying words, Lord Helman tells them to go to Marquess Laus, Darin, saying that "he knows all". Helman then says mysteriously "Beware the Black Fang", and with that, he perishes. Eliwood then journeys to Laus, which is preparing for rebellion in Lycia. In a large battle, Eliwood and his group defeat Darin's son, Erik, and the rebellion is quelched. Darin has mysteriously vanished from the castle. Erik then tells them the answers to many mysterys: that Eliwood's Father, Marquess Pherae was one of the Lords that supported the rebellion which Lord Darin wanted to bring up. A mysterious man named Ephidel introduced the whole idea of rebellion in the first place. Eliwood doesn't believe him, and continues the search for Darin. A couple days later, Eliwood is informed that Castle Caelin is under attack by Laus, so Eliwood rushes over. His small army meets up with Lyn's band of friends, and they decide to work together to cature the castle, after a long battle to get the castle under Caelin control, peace is restored. It is found here by the spy Leila, who is undercover in the Black Fang, that the Black Fang is responsible for all this trechery. Although the Black Fang used to be a organization with mostly noble intentions, it is being used now by Nergal, a mysterious man who wants to start war in Lycia. They also find that Marquess Pherae is captive at the Dragon's Gate, a place on the dread isle Valor that Nergal makes his base of operation. Lyn, Hector, and Eliwood rush over to the island with the help of the pirate captain Fargus. Along the way, they find a girl named Ninian, who Eliwood and Lyn know, floting in the water. She has strange powers, but is too weak to act or do anything. They reach the island, and find the Dragon's Gate, a huge place that the Dragons created before the Scouring. A battle against Darin happens here. When he is defeated, Eliwood finds his father, who is close to death. Nergal, who already has Nils in his grasp, captures Ninian, and is able to access the Dragon's Gate, which he expains, is where Dragon's can finally come back into the world. Since Nergal can control Dragons, he will be able to take over the world with them. As a dragon is coming out of the portal, Nergal is stabbed by Lord Elbert (Marquess Pherae), and the process is halted. Everyone flees as the portal explodes. After this, Elbert is too weak, and dies in his son's arms.

Hector's View

Hector's game is almost the same as Eliwood's, but with a few changes. First, the viewpoint has changed from Eliwood to Hector, meaning Hector is the main character. The characters Uther and Oswin play larger roles as well. Several story elements are changed, most easily seen at the beginning and end of the game. Other changes include different troops and troop placement in the chapters. Because Hecotr mode is unlocked after beating Eliwood's story, Hector mode is more difficult than Eliwood's. Also included in Hector's story are two characters not found in Eliwood's mode: Farina, the pegasus knight, and Karla, the swordmaster.

Born in the Sacean Plains, her parents (Hassar and Madelyn) were killed by bandits. She lived alone in her house until she finds a tactician (the player) lying on the ground. She then decides that nothing will change if she does not leave, so she goes in search of her maternal grandfather Lord Hausen, Marquess of Caelin, who she hopes will take her in. Lyn is the first female character in the Lord class (a female lord is also called a lady).
  • Eliwood (Lord)
A swordsman on a quest to find his father, Elbert, who had been kidnapped by the Dark Druid Nergal. Eliwood battles with a group of assassins called the Black Fang, morphs, and lastly a Fire Dragon to reach his destination. • Hector (Lord)
A young lord who is a good friend of Eliwood. He helps Eliwood with his quest to find his father. His parents died of natural causes and his older brother, Uther, is the current lord of Ositia.

  • Sain (Cavalier)
Kent's boon companion. He is a bit of a scoundrel and a notorious womanizer. He has Abel's colors and Kain's stats.
A Pegasus knight from Ilia with a timid heart. She is a childhood friend of Lyn's and has two older sisters. Retconned from Est.

A passionate scholar who has a tendency to read on the battlefield. The father of Hugh and son of Niime, characters from Fire Emblem: Sealed Sword.

Again, Lyn, along with Hector and Lyn, save Caelin from invaders.

  • Fargus (Berserker)
The captain of the pirate ship Darvos. Fargus shows kindness towards Eliwood's group, and lets them journey to the Dread Isle, Valor, on his ship. Fargus seeks adventure in life, and because of that he gives them passage. Fargus also brings them to Valor a second time after Eliwood's campaign in Bern.

Support

A unique feature of Fire Emblem- Blazing Sword is that characters, if put in battle next to each other long enough, can have conversations with each other. These conversaitions are very interesting, and can range from just humorous banter, a romance between two characters, or insight on the character's lives. These conservations also have direct impact on the play of the game: each time a character pair has a conversation, (there are 3 levels of support, meaning 3 conversations), their stats rise in battle if the pair in in the vicinity of each other. There are some things to keep in mind, though. First, each character only has on average 5 to 6 people they can support with. Second, characters can only have 5 levels of support per game. For example, if Heath has A level support with Priscilla, and B level support with Kent, he cannot have more support conversations. (A level= 3, B level= 2). Since each character has his or her own elemental affinity, the level of stat bonuses from support derives from the combination of elements you have supporting. Some supports may raise both character's stats very much, while other may give you a very small bonus. This means you must choose carefully when it comes to support. Finally, certain "A Level" support pairs have their own special endings at the end of the game (for example, they may get married).
