Toronto ON-based Famous Players is a Canadian company which owns many movie theatres across Canada.
Famous Players Canadian Corporation was founded in 1920 and acquired by Viacom in 1994.
In June 2005, Famous Players was sold by Viacom Canada to Onex Corporation's Cineplex Galaxy LP for $500 million
Famous Players once operated a number of drive-in theatres, but most if not all have closed and replaced with modern theatres:
