Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 4,695 people, 1,683 households, and 1,531 families residing in the city. The population density is 253.5/km² (656.4/mi²). There are 1,731 housing units at an average density of 93.5/km² (242.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 96.38% White, 0.38% African American, 0.43% Native American, 0.62% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 1.04% from other races, and 1.09% from two or more races. 7.90% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,683 households out of which 34.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 86.4% are married couples living together, 3.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 9.0% are non-families. 7.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.79 and the average family size is 2.93.
In the city the population is spread out with 25.1% under the age of 18, 3.8% from 18 to 24, 19.3% from 25 to 44, 38.0% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 46 years. For every 100 females there are 101.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 96.9 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $99,685, and the median income for a family is $101,751. Males have a median income of $72,031 versus $43,750 for females. The per capita income for the city is $45,293. 1.7% of the population and 1.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 1.3% of those under the age of 18 and 4.4% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
