Template:Infobox Sliders episodes Eye of the Storm is the seventeenth episode of the fifth season for the science fiction television show Sliders. In their final encounter with Oberon Geiger, the scientist reveals to the Sliders that he can separate Mallory from his double Quinn.

Mallory rejects his brief devotion to Cajero, the spirit of the heavens, just as the town he and the other Sliders walk through is flooded. Rembrandt expresses his frustration at sliding to world after world; Diana explains that, as a result of the "living gem" they charged the timer with (from "To Catch A Slider"), all the stored coordinates were erased. On the next world they slide to, Diana, Maggie, Mallory, and Rembrandt find themselves in a world comprised of three blocks of Wilshire Boulevard. A terrible storm rages around them as they encounter a man walking the streets toward the energy barrier surrounding this area. The man turns out to be Oberon Geiger, Diana and Mallory's former employer as well as the man responsible for Mallory's merge with his double Quinn. Geiger doesn't recognize them, and he walks into the barrier after giving some cryptic warnings.

At the barricaded Chandler Hotel, the porter reveals that he and dozens of others have been trapped here for months. If they want to know more, they should talk to "the man upstairs". When Diana and the others discover that the man is Oberon Geiger, he explains that what's happened here is a result of changing himself to fit the world. The experiment he originally planned to accomplish with the Combine (from "The Unstuck Man") wouldn't have worked on a macroscopic scale. Instead, the area he's created has stabilized him, but it's breaking down.

On a reconnaissance, Maggie and Rembrandt start to take money from a deserted bank and they're halted by lone police officer Sharon Fletcher. Sharon brings Maggie and Rembrandt to the bank's basement where she's tending individuals who have been "taken" and return horribly disfigured. Meanwhile, Diana and Mallory agree reluctantly to help Geiger in his attempt to split Quinn from Mallory at the quantum level. The hotel's residents become suspicious; the Sliders are the first arrivals at the Chandler in months, and they don't want them leaving anyone behind.

Maggie, Renbrandt, and Sharon arrive and coerce the hotel patrons to help getting the patients to the hotel. The last patient, a Mr. Saunders with half of Geiger's face, was too violent to go with the others. It becomes apparent that Geiger wrenched this area from an alternate world and is using the people trapped inside it to stabilize himself. Maggie and Rembrandt arrive as Geiger's makeshift laboratory just as he attempts to merge himself with Mallory. Geiger reveals that he directed their wormhole to open here so he could use Mallory, who already has an individual imprinted on him, as a conduit to escape being unstuck. But Geiger has a change of heart, and he decides to die with this reality after making sure everyone else is gone.

The Chandler Hotel guests wrench the gun from Sharon and storm toward Geiger's laboratory as the attempt to separate Quinn from Mallory fails, for they're joined like Siamese twins sharing one heart. Bringing back Quinn would kill Mallory, and Rembrandt decides he wouldn't want it that way. Diana opens the vortex, and Maggie, Mallory, and Rembrandt jump through as Geiger is shot. Before dying, Geiger tells Diana how to send his prisoners home and gives her a disc with their home coordinates on it.
