Euless, Texas

Euless is a city located in Tarrant County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 46,005.

Part of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, which serves the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, is inside the city limits of Euless.

Euless is located at 32°50'54" North, 97°5'30" West (32.848253, -97.091782)Template:GR.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 42.1 km² (16.3 mi²). 42.1 km² (16.3 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 46,005 people, 19,218 households, and 11,626 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,091.7/km² (2,828.3/mi²). There are 20,136 housing units at an average density of 477.8/km² (1,237.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 75.52% White, 6.49% African American, 0.64% Native American, 7.15% Asian, 1.86% Pacific Islander, 5.38% from other races, and 2.96% from two or more races. 13.31% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. Interestingly, Euless has the largest population of Tongans anywhere in the world outside the isle of Tonga.

There are 19,218 households out of which 31.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.3% are married couples living together, 10.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 39.5% are non-families. 31.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.38 and the average family size is 3.05.

In the city the population is spread out with 25.0% under the age of 18, 9.8% from 18 to 24, 39.7% from 25 to 44, 19.7% from 45 to 64, and 5.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 32 years. For every 100 females there are 98.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.0 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $49,582, and the median income for a family is $54,697. Males have a median income of $39,169 versus $32,370 for females. The per capita income for the city is $23,764. 7.0% of the population and 5.7% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 9.5% of those under the age of 18 and 5.7% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.

Other Information

Euless is known for having the largest Arbor Day celebration anywhere in the world. Annual attendance exceeds 1 million people. Because of this, Euless is also known as "Tree City USA."

Euless is a member of the H.E.B. school district. Together with Hurst and Bedford, Texas, this district is the largest recognized suburb in the state of Texas.

Euless has 4 elementary schools, 1 junior high school, and 1 high school.
