Essex Village is a census-designated place located in Middlesex County, Connecticut. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 2,573.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 12.5 km² (4.8 mi²). 9.1 km² (3.5 mi²) of it is land and 3.4 km² (1.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 27.39% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 2,573 people, 1,190 households, and 727 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 283.8/km² (734.9/mi²). There are 1,286 housing units at an average density of 141.9/km² (367.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 98.29% White, 0.43% African American, 0.08% Native American, 0.51% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.12% from other races, and 0.58% from two or more races. 0.93% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
