Esperance is a village located in Schoharie County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 380.

Geography
Esperance is located at 42°45'44" North, 74°15'33" West (42.762271, -74.259361)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.4 km² (0.5 mi²). 1.3 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 5.66% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 380 people, 149 households, and 106 families residing in the village. The population density is 293.4/km² (757.7/mi²). There are 158 housing units at an average density of 122.0/km² (315.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 96.84% White, 1.58% Black or African American, 0.00% Native American, 1.05% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.53% from two or more races. 0.26% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 149 households out of which 34.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.4% are married couples living together, 11.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.2% are non-families. 21.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.55 and the average family size is 3.00.
