Elenari

The Elenari are a group within the otherkin subculture. As such, they believe that they or their souls are other than entirely human. The members of the group identify as any one of a number of similar elven races. Like many others within the otherkin subculture, they claim to hold memories of past lives on other worlds. The races that the Elenari identify as share similar cultures and experiences.
The word "Elenari" was derived from Tolkien's Elvish, and translates almost literally to "The Elven people of the stars". This name was adopted as a descriptor for the group, and has no connection with any names they recall. However, the name does have meaning in the reconstructed Elenari language, where "elen" means both "elf" and "friend", with connotations of being from or of the stars, and "ari" means "people".
The three primary worlds the Elenari recall are called Sel'ar, Aelveron, and BrightMoon, although other words such as Alorya are sometimes mentioned. Some Elenari also recall spending time in Faerie, especially members of the Shiri race, who recall having lived there.
The Corruption
The Elenari commonly believe that their past incarnations were killed off by a force known as the Corruption. The Corruption has been described as a destroying force from outside the reality of the Elenari. In this case, outside of reality refers along the lines of a hostile Plane of existence rather than a Parallel universe.
It has been proposed that the Elenari souls were reincarnated here because of it—either to seek safety from the Corruption in a world supposedly incompatible with it, or as a form of exile after they were tainted by it. There have been no known cases of The Corruption manifesting physically on this world.
