'Edgeley is a mainly residential, blue collar neighbourhood within the town of Stockport. Edgeley comprises the small Sykes reservoir backed onto a park and bowling green, a slightly run-down main street, and largely close-packed terraced housing. Main feature is Edgeley Park, home of Stockport County.
It was the birthplace of the British film director Sidney Gilliat.
