Eastland is a city located in Eastland County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 3,769. It is the county seat of Eastland CountyTemplate:GR.
Geography
Eastland is located at 32°23'55" North, 98°49'16" West (32.398715, -98.821144)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.3 km² (2.8 mi²). 7.3 km² (2.8 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 3,769 people, 1,475 households, and 998 families residing in the city. The population density is 514.2/km² (1,333.1/mi²). There are 1,737 housing units at an average density of 237.0/km² (614.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 91.64% White, 1.80% African American, 0.53% Native American, 0.13% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 4.67% from other races, and 1.17% from two or more races. 12.89% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,475 households out of which 33.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.2% are married couples living together, 10.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.3% are non-families. 29.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.45 and the average family size is 3.04.
