Eastern United States

The U.S. Eastern states are the states east of the Mississippi River. (The first tier of states to the West (Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas and Louisiana) are in something of a geographic limbo when it comes to the U.S.'s East-West divide--they are not fully Eastern or Western, and instead generally split North-South, with Missouri again being somewhat lost, having connections to both regions.)
The states of the East, from west to east, include Wisconsin, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.
