East Ham tube station

East Ham Station is a London Underground station on the District and Hammersmith and City lines, located in East Ham, east London. It is in both Zone 3 and Zone 4.
The station was opened by the London Tilbury & Southend Railway in 1858. District Line service began in 1902, and the Hammersmith & City (then the Metropolitan Line) followed in 1936. LTSR services were withdrawn in 1962.
The station has two platforms, one for each direction. A third bay platform on the northern side of the station allowed westbound trains to terminate and reverse back towards Barking, but it has now fallen into disuse.
East Ham station provides access to the local High Street and East Ham town hall, head offices for Newham council.
