Dusk and Her Embrace
|
Probably Cradle of Filth's most famous album, Dusk... and Her Embrace varies from the previous two releases in sound, keeping things new and exciting. Dani's voice is the craziest on these tracks more so than any other album. Instead of mainly using his medium growl, he sings almost entirely in his high pitched shrieks. Dani actually hurt his vocal cords singing "Dusk and her Embrace" in concert. The music itself is faster than the other two, going rapidly through the notes. Many of the songs hint at vampirism, although the creatures are not mentioned by name
Classical instruments (although mostly synthesized) add greatly to the songs, used better within the actual songs themselves then in the previous two albums, although there are not as many pure instrumental tracks as their earlier album, "The Principle of Evil Made Flesh."
The album goes out with a bang with a guest speech from CRONOS on the final track, "Haunted Shores".
