Edward VIII of the United Kingdom was the first and only Duke of Windsor.
History
The title was created by his brother George VI of the United Kingdom after abdication of Edward as King of the United Kingdom (and marriage to American divorcee Wallis Simpson), who becaome the Duchess of Windsor) and allowed him to remain a distant and exiled member of the Royal Family. Upon the death of the Duke in 1972 (as well as the Duchess, the titles are now extinct.
