Beats International

The producers behind the band Beats International were Norman Cook, who was later to become Fatboy Slim, and Lindy Layton, who was later to work under the pseudonym Hardknox. Their only number 1 UK single was Dub be good to me. The follow up single 'Won't talk about it' did less well. Dub Be Good to Me incorporated the rap double act Double Trouble, featured the refrain "Tank fly, boss walk, jam nitty gritty, you're listening to the boy from the big bad city. This is jam hot," and used the bass sample of the Clash's 'Guns of Brixton'.
The second B.I. album was 1991's 'Excursion on the Version', which featured a remake of 'In The Ghetto.'
