Dorset Street
|
Dorset Street is an important thoroughfare on the northside of Dublin, Ireland. It makes up part of the most common route from Dublin Airport to the city centre. Recent new buildings have improved some of the more dilapidated sections of this long wide street but it still maintains a somewhat rundown feel. It contains a large number of pubs, fast food outlets and an odd assortment of small retail units as well as apartments and small offices. It can get quite seedy at night.
It was named after the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland - Lionel Cranfield Sackville, 1st Duke of Dorset.
