Donald L. "Don" Carcieri (born December 16, 1942) is the governor of the U.S. state of Rhode Island. He is a member of the Republican Party. He became governor in January 2003 after being elected in 2002 by defeating Democrat Myrth York, 55 percent to 45 percent.
