Discworld II: Missing Presumed...!? (Discworld II: Mortality Bytes! in America) is the second graphical adventure game based on Terry Pratchett's series of fantasy novels set in the mythical Discworld. The game was developed by Perfect Entertainment and published by Psygnosis in 1996 on two CDs; featuring hand-drawn environments and animation, full prerecorded voiceovers, and a simple easy-to-use interface.

In Discworld II the player returns as Rincewind the Wizard (voiced by Eric Idle, as in the original) who has this time been burdened with the task of coercing Death out of his impromptu retirement and back into his regular duties. The plot borrows from a number of Discworld books, but most notably Reaper Man, Moving Pictures, Lords and Ladies, and The Last Continent.

Featuring The Luggage as your inventory, a humourous and detailed game manual, and an array of finely crafted and diverse localities — Terry Pratchett's humour manages to shine through from every aspect of the game. Of course naturally what the game really has to offer is a unique and fantastic plot, hard but equally funny puzzles, and an overall enjoyable gaming experience.

Plot

It all begins in a quiet Ankh-Morpork street, where Rincewind and The Librarian inexplainably fail to die from a nearby cart-bomb explosion. The odd event is not shared by them alone, however. Occurrences of the newly dead, re-awakening and disturbing the populace are being reported all over the city, prompting the archchancellor of Unseen University to halt his usual activites of feasting and merrymaking, and to take charge of the situation. Much to Rincewind's despair, the entirety of this process involved appointing him to the task of finding and convincing Death to resume his work.
