Diane Ladd (born November 29, 1932 in Meridian, Mississippi) is an American television and film actress. She was born Rose Diane Lanier and raised Catholic.
Ladd is the mother of film actress Laura Dern, with whom she co-starred in the films Wild at Heart and Rambling Rose. She is also best known for her role as Isabelle "Belle" Dupree on the TV series Alice, from 1980 to 1981. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in the film Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore.
Ladd was formerly married to Bruce Dern, now married to Robert Charles Hunter.
