Delhi is a village located in Delaware County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 2,583.
The Village of Delhi is within the Town of Delhi on Routes 10 and 28. (Note that Delhi is pronounced with a long "i", "Dell-high")
The State University of New York at Delhi is located west of the village.

History
The village was incorporated in 1821.
Geography
Delhi is located at 42°16'44" North, 74°54'59" West (42.278926, -74.916408)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 8.2 km² (3.2 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 2,583 people, 714 households, and 404 families residing in the village. The population density is 313.6/km² (812.2/mi²). There are 818 housing units at an average density of 99.3/km² (257.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 87.77% White, 6.97% Black or African American, 0.31% Native American, 1.82% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.55% from other races, and 1.59% from two or more races. 4.30% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 714 households out of which 25.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.5% are married couples living together, 12.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 43.3% are non-families. 34.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.20 and the average family size is 2.81.
In the village the population is spread out with 13.2% under the age of 18, 44.7% from 18 to 24, 14.8% from 25 to 44, 15.3% from 45 to 64, and 12.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 21 years. For every 100 females there are 103.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 103.5 males.
The median income for a household in the village is $32,708, and the median income for a family is $42,692. Males have a median income of $27,109 versus $21,800 for females. The per capita income for the village is $13,421. 14.1% of the population and 8.1% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 17.5% of those under the age of 18 and 7.1% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
