Delevan is a village located in Cattaraugus County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 1,089.
The Village of Delavan was incorporated in 1915 and lies inside the Town of Yorkshire on Route 16.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.5 km² (1.0 mi²). 2.5 km² (1.0 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,089 people, 436 households, and 279 families residing in the village. The population density is 429.0/km² (1,113.0/mi²). There are 470 housing units at an average density of 185.2/km² (480.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.26% White, 0.18% African American, 0.09% Native American, 0.55% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.18% from other races, and 0.73% from two or more races. 0.64% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 436 households out of which 32.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.5% are married couples living together, 10.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.8% are non-families. 29.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.50 and the average family size is 3.13.
In the village the population is spread out with 28.1% under the age of 18, 10.4% from 18 to 24, 25.6% from 25 to 44, 23.9% from 45 to 64, and 12.0% who are 65 years of age or older.
