Day for Night is the fourth full-length album by Canadian rock band The Tragically Hip.

Released in 1994 (see 1994 in music), it album is more mellow and acoustic than their previous albums to this point in their career. There are a few hard rock songs included however such as "So Hard Done By" and "Inevitability of Death". This album is considered the definitive album in term's of The Tragically Hip's success, proving their progressive improvement lyrically and musically from each release since Up to Here. This album contained the largest number of released singles for 'Hip album -- Grace, Too; Greasy Jungle; Nautical Disaster; Thugs; Scared -- and represents the peak of their popularity in Canada (although they are still a solid draw to this day).

"Day for Night" is a lighting term for movie production, and also the title of a Francois Truffaut film.
