Davie is a town located in Broward County, Florida, USA. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 75,720.

Davie is located at 26°4'53" North, 80°16'49" West (26.081426, -80.280223)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 88.5 km² (34.2 mi²). 86.6 km² (33.4 mi²) of it is land and 1.9 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.17% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 75,720 people, 28,682 households, and 19,761 families residing in the city. The population density is 874.5/km² (2,265.2/mi²). There are 31,284 housing units at an average density of 361.3/km² (935.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 87.05% White, 4.56% African American, 0.25% Native American, 2.79% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 2.86% from other races, and 2.45% from two or more races. 18.85% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 28,682 households out of which 36.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.8% are married couples living together, 12.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.1% are non-families. 22.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.64 and the average family size is 3.13.
In the city the population is spread out with 26.4% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 33.4% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 9.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 95.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.4 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $47,014, and the median income for a family is $56,290. Males have a median income of $38,756 versus $30,016 for females. The per capita income for the city is $23,271. 9.8% of the population and 6.9% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 10.3% of those under the age of 18 and 7.1% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.

History
Davie was founded by a group of settlers from workers of the Panama Canal. The original name of the town was Zona because of this. It was carved out of Everglades land that mostly under water, and the early history was dominated by drainage issues, some of which persist to today.
