Darwin Harrikson Cubillán Salom (born November 15, 1972 in Bobures, Zulia State, Venezuela), better known as Darwin Cubillán (coo-be-YAHN), is a Major League Baseball right-handed relief pitcher who plays for the Baltimore Orioles.
Originally signed as a free agent by the Yankees in 1993, Cubillán has played for the Toronto Blue Jays (2000), Texas Rangers (2000) and Montreal Expos (2001).
Cubillán's best pitch is a sharp 95 MPH fastball, and he has a decent split-fingered and a straight changeup. His stuff is good enough to hold down his hits allowed total, but he walks too many batters. When he has to throw his fastball from behind in the count, he is going to get into trouble, as evidenced by the significant number of home runs he allowed in his career (13 in 69.2 innings pitched).
In three-season career, Cubillán has compiled a 1-0 record with 54 strikeouts and a 6.85 ERA.
