Darlene Hooley (born April 4, 1939) is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Oregon and represents that state's fifth congressional district (map (http://nationalatlas.gov/printable/images/preview/congdist/or05_109.gif)) in West Linn.
Hooley was born in Williston, North Dakota, received a bachelor of science degree from Oregon State University in 1961 and worked as a school teacher from 1961 to 1975. She served on the West Linn city council (1977-80), as an Oregon state representative from 1980 to 1986, a commissioner on the Clackamas County, Oregon, Board of Commissioners (1987-96), and as a delegate representing Oregon at the 2000 Democratic National Convention.
Hooley was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1996 and began serving in 1997 (105th Congress). In 2004, she was serving her fourth term in the House. She is a member of the Budget, Financial Services, and Veterans' Affairs committees.
Hooley is a member of the Lutheran church.
