TV 2 (Denmark)
|
TV 2 is a Danish government-owned television station broadcasting from Odense on Funen.
TV 2's regional channels are:
- TV Syd - Southern Jutland
- TV 2/Fyn - Funen
- TV 2/Øst - Eastern Zealand
- TV 2/Nord - Northern Jutland
- TV 2/Lorry - Western Zealand
- TV/Midt-Vest - Central and Western Jutland
- TV 2/Østjylland - Eastern Jutland
- TV 2/Bornholm - Bornholm
It has two daughter-stations named TV 2 Zulu and TV 2 Charlie, and an internet-based pay-per-view channel TV 2 Sputnik which started broadcasting December 2004.
Comparisons to other Danish television stations
Compared to the other government-owned station, Danish Broadcast Corporation, TV2 has established itself as a more youth-oriented channel with several American sit-coms.
Funding
Historically it has been funded by TV-license fees and advertising sales, but beginning July 2004 funding through TV-license fees for the main channel had ended. The regional channels are still partly funded this way.
