Cylindrobulloidea
|
The opisthobranch suborder Cylindrobulloidea used to be recognized as monogeneric suborder: one family Cylindrobullidae, one genus Cylindrobulla.
A recent systematic review by Paula Mikkelsen (1998) has shown that Cylindrobulla actually belongs in the suborder Sacoglossa, where it forms a monophyletic group Oxynoacea with the shelled sacoglossans because of the agreement in digestive, sexual, pallial (= concerning the mantle), and nervous system characteristics.
