The Crazy World of Arthur Brown (1968) | Backtrack 12 1970 |
The Crazy World of Arthur Brown is a psychedelic rock album by Arthur Brown, released in 1968 (see 1968 in music). Considered a classic of the late-1960s psychedelic scene, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown includes covers of Screamin' Jay Hawkins and James Brown.
The Crazy World of Arthur Brown peaked at #7 on Billboard's Pop Albums chart. The hit single "Fire" reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Crazy World of Arthur Brown was also the name of the band. This causes some confusion, especially since drummer Carl Palmer joined the group after the album was released, but while the group was still touring. Original drummer Drachen Theaker was too afraid of flying to tour, so Palmer replaced him.
