Cranberry Township is a township located in Butler County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 23,625.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 59.1 km² (22.8 mi²). 59.0 km² (22.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.04% is water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 23,625 people, 8,352 households, and 6,556 families residing in the township. The population density is 400.2/km² (1,036.5/mi²). There are 8,724 housing units at an average density of 147.8/km² (382.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 96.80% White, 0.88% African American, 0.06% Native American, 1.35% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.19% from other races, and 0.69% from two or more races. 0.70% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 8,352 households out of which 44.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.4% are married couples living together, 6.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.5% are non-families. 17.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
