Coxsackie is a village located in Greene County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 2,895.

History
The lower part of the village was once called Reeds Landing.
Geography
Coxsacki is on the west bank of the Hudson River.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 6.7 km² (2.6 mi²). 5.6 km² (2.2 mi²) of it is land and 1.1 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 16.54% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 2,895 people, 1,188 households, and 723 families residing in the village. The population density is 515.1/km² (1,332.1/mi²). There are 1,307 housing units at an average density of 232.6/km² (601.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 95.89% White, 2.28% Black or African American, 0.28% Native American, 0.48% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.24% from other races, and 0.79% from two or more races. 2.59% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,188 households out of which 32.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.6% are married couples living together, 12.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 39.1% are non-families. 32.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.38 and the average family size is 3.09.
In the village the population is spread out with 27.1% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 27.6% from 25 to 44, 23.8% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 88.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 81.9 males.
The median income for a household in the village is $36,098, and the median income for a family is $44,565. Males have a median income of $36,349 versus $28,182 for females. The per capita income for the village is $17,914. 12.7% of the population and 10.4% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 13.9% of those under the age of 18 and 18.4% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
