The colón is the currency of two Central American nations:
- Costa Rica (ISO 4217 three-letter currency code: CRC) see Costa Rican colón
- El Salvador (ISO 4217: SVC) – since 2001 used in parallel with the United States dollar; see dollarization, El Salvador colón.
The Costa Rican colón is divided into 100 céntimos; the Salvadoran colón is divided into 100 centavos.
The Spanish-language plural form is colones, but most English speakers use the simpler plural colons.
