Clawson is a town located in Emery County, Utah. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 153.

History
A canal to carry water from Ferron Creek was completed in 1896. In 1897, the first settlers arrived, calling the community "Kingsville" after Guy King, who was one of the original settlers. The first school was opened in 1898 in the home of Guy King with Florence Barney as the teacher. She rode fourteen miles on horseback each day to the school.
In 1902, the President of the Emery Stake, Reuben C. Miller, sent the bishopric of Ferron to select a permanent spot for the town of Kingsville. There were two candidate locations: the homesteads and the Westingkow farm two miles west of that. The bishop decided it should be near the Westingkow farm because the lay of the land suggested that the old location could become swampy. Although they initially disagreed, they consented, purchased the Westingkow farm, and moved their log cabins two miles to the West.
On October 25, 1904, Apostle Rudger Clawson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles came and organized a ward. The name of the town changed their name from Kingston to Clawson in his honor.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.4 km² (0.5 mi²). 1.4 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 153 people, 48 households, and 39 families residing in the town. The population density is 109.4/km² (282.6/mi²). There are 52 housing units at an average density of 37.2/km² (96.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 96.73% White, 0.00% African American, 3.27% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 48 households out of which 45.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 77.1% are married couples living together, 6.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 16.7% are non-families. 14.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.19 and the average family size is 3.58.
In the town the population is spread out with 33.3% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 27.5% from 25 to 44, 19.6% from 45 to 64, and 11.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 33 years. For every 100 females there are 101.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 112.5 males.
The median income for a household in the town is $31,250, and the median income for a family is $35,000. Males have a median income of $32,500 versus $26,250 for females. The per capita income for the town is $8,727. 25.5% of the population and 26.2% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 33.3% of those under the age of 18 and 18.8% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
