| List of Melbourne tram routes |
The City Circle is a tram loop running around the central business district of Melbourne, Australia. It has the route number 35.
The City Circle is a free tourist-orientated service which passes many Melbourne attractions while running along the CBD's outermost thoroughfares, and also through the developing Docklands waterfront precinct.
Only heritage W-class trams with a unique brown and gold livery operate on the City Circle. Trams travel in both directions with a frequency of approximately 10 minutes. However, newer trams have been known to operate on the City Circle when no older trams are available, and green liveried W-class trams fitted with Metcard vending machines and validators have also run on the City Circle when no brown & gold liveried trams are available.
