Christy Carlson Romano (born March 20, 1984) is an actress who is a native of Milford, Connecticut. Although largely known for her role as Ren Stevens in the Disney Channel program Even Stevens, Romano began when she was very young.
Romano moved to Atlanta, Georgia as a child, and landed her first acting job at the Atlanta production of Annie. After that, she garnered multiple jobs acting in plays.
Linked from her official site (http://www.christyromano.com/links.html), we are led to Christy Carlson Romano Fan Site (http://deeva-designs.com/) which gives her full name as Christy Michelle Romano in the biography section, allowing us to believe her supposed middle stage name Carlson is Sharon C. Romano's maiden name.
In 2002, Romano became the first person ever to act in three Disney Channel projects at the same time, complementing her work at Even Stevens with a starring role in a movie named Cadet Kelly (alongside Lizzie McGuire star Hilary Duff) and lending her voice to the red-haired crime fighter Kim Possible.
Romano has also finished a 31 week run of playing Belle in Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" on Broadway on September 12, 2004. An estimated 400,000 people saw her in this role.
Romano is attending Columbia University’s Barnard College, where she is studying English and International Relations.
She has also interned for Connecticut Senator Christopher Dodd, her godfather.
Her next move is to Los Angeles, California, where she will be pursuing a television pilot, movies, and a solo music career.
She has also studied ballet.
Milford Mayor James Richetelli Jr. named February 22nd, 2005 as Christy Carlson Romano Day. Additionally that same day, she received the "Connecticut's Finest Citizen Award".
